Jackie Willis

Jackie Willis co-authored Garnet Education’s ESAP Biological Sciences along with Gloria Richards. She has worked as a lecturer in Higher Education since 1991 having formerly started her career a researcher at Birmingham University. She now works at the University of Hertfordshire teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level and is a Principal Lecturer with the Learning and Teaching Institute. She has many years experience of developing students’ study skills, particularly in mathematics and statistics. She was awarded an Academic Quality Enhancement award for this work by the university.

Jackie lectures in the Biosciences and is a Programme Tutor for postgraduate programmes in Pharmacology, Molecular Biology and Biotechnology. She organises academic skills classes for international students in the School of Life Sciences. 

Jackie also plays a key role in training university academic staff in the use of educational technologies and providing staff support through workshops and seminars. She holds a BSc in Biochemistry, a PhD in Clinical Pharmacology and a PGCE.
