English for Academic Study (EAS) series

The EAS series has been designed to challenge and stimulate students on pre-sessional courses and pre-departure courses. This material is aimed at students with an IELTS level of between 5.0 and 7.0. The most recent additions to the series are EAS Speaking, EAS Listening and EAS Pronunciation.

The courses have been written by English for Academic Purposes (EAP) professionals at the University of Reading's Centre for Applied Language Studies, making use of up-to-date source texts and engaging activities. These texts and activities are relevant to the needs of students from a wide range of study areas.

The design of the new material is founded on an extensive review of recent research into EAP methodology, and reflects the most recent developments in language teaching for academic purposes. It is based on many years of classroom experience and understanding of the needs of students on EAP pre-sessional courses. The Centre for Applied Language Studies has been supporting students of EAP for thirty years.
